Spa Regatta - Holland Regatta - Olympic Class Spa Regatta renamed into Holland Regatta |
MEDEMBLIK, THE NETHERLANDS-(31-3-2005) The Organising Committee of one of the finest Olympic
Classes events in the world has decided - as of today - to change the name
SPA Regatta into Holland Regatta. With this change of name the first and
oldest Olympic sailing regatta in The Netherlands is preparing itself for
the future.
'After twenty great years we said goodbye to our main sponsor in 2004. Ever
since the first Regatta we aim for quality, innovation and continuity now
and in the future. It has been the key to our success and will be in the
future, even without a new main sponsor,' said Henri G C van der Aat,
chairman of the Organising Committee. 'To demonstrate our ambition for
growth and quality, we created a new name for this event. The Holland
Regatta is a real Dutch event, something of which we are truly proud of. Of
course we continue to welcome prospect sponsors. We will be the first to
test an electronic system that can identify early starters in 2005.'
The Holland Regatta takes place from 25 - 29 May 2005, in Medemblik, The
Netherlands. During the Holland Regatta the Neil Pryde RS:X will make its
debut as an Olympic discipline. The other participating disciplines will be:
Tornado, Yngling, Star, 49er, 470, Finn, Laser en Laser Radial.
